Toepark

Toepark

Cross-platform app, based on state-of-the-art technology

Toepark is a hybrid application we built for the Flemish government to visualize all parking spots available for disabled people. Via the mobile app or the responsive website, they can easily find possible parking spots in a specific area. At the moment, the app and website contain nearly 16 000 parking spots.

The challenge

Building a responsive website and native application for iOS and Android devices for people with a disability. This way, they can look for parking spaces in Flanders reserved for them at their destination.

The solution

Toepark is a responsive website that uses Google Maps to visualize and locate parking spots, based on points of interest. By wrapping the result in PhoneGap, we made the website available as a native app on multiple platforms.

Once you have entered a destination, the Toepark application gives users a list of all parking spaces reserved for disabled people in that specific area. Users also get directions to the reserved parking they select and are able to save the location where they want to park. If the parking space appears to be occupied, users can easily look for other reserved places in the area.
